Disney World Scooter Rules 2026: Sizes, Buses and Bell Services
By Marie Okafor, Accessibility Travel Specialist · Updated November 2025
Quick answer
Walt Disney World allows guest-owned and third-party rental scooters in all four theme parks, at Disney Springs and on Disney transport in 2026. Units must be no wider than 36 inches and no longer than 52 inches, must use a sealed non-spillable battery, and cannot be left unattended in queues. Disney Bell Services will accept delivery of a rental scooter at Deluxe and Moderate resorts; Value resorts usually require the guest to meet the driver.
Key facts
- Maximum size on Disney property: 36 in wide by 52 in long
- Disney buses take up to two mobility devices per bus via a rear ramp
- Monorail, Skyliner and boats all accept standard scooters
- In-park Disney ECV rental: $65 per day plus a $20 refundable deposit
- Disability Access Service is separate from a scooter and is requested 2–30 days before arrival
Disney's 2026 mobility device rules in plain terms
- Size limit: 36 inches wide, 52 inches long — every unit in our fleet is inside this
- Batteries must be sealed and non-spillable; gel or lithium sealed packs are accepted
- One rider per scooter; a second person may not ride on the platform
- Scooters must be parked in marked areas outside attractions, not in queues, unless the queue is signed as accessible
- Guests must be able to operate the device themselves or travel with someone who can
Getting a scooter to your Disney resort
| Resort tier | Example | Handover |
|---|---|---|
| Deluxe | Grand Floridian, Polynesian Village, Contemporary | Bell Services accepts and holds the unit |
| Moderate | Caribbean Beach, Port Orleans Riverside | Bell Services accepts and holds the unit |
| Value | All-Star Movies, Pop Century | Guest usually meets the driver at the front desk |
| Off-site hotel | Universal-area and I-Drive hotels | Bell desk or front desk, arranged at booking |
Give the resort name and building at booking. If your flight is delayed, call 855.773.5466 and we re-time the drop rather than cancelling it.
Using a scooter on Disney transport
- Wait at the marked mobility spot at the bus stop; the driver loads mobility guests first
- Drive up the rear ramp forward, then turn and park facing forward for the tie-down
- Power off and set the brake before the driver secures the straps
- On the monorail and Skyliner, roll straight on — no tie-down is used
- On boats, staff will confirm whether the specific vessel is ramp-accessible at that dock
Buses take two mobility devices at a time, so allow an extra 15–20 minutes at park close from Magic Kingdom and Epcot.

How to choose between renting from Disney and renting off-site
Rent from Disney if
- You need a scooter for one park day only and will not use it at the resort
Rent off-site if
- You want the scooter at the resort, at Disney Springs and on the buses
- You are visiting two parks in one day
- You want a guaranteed unit — in-park inventory is first come, first served and sells out by mid-morning on peak days
- You want a specific weight capacity above 300 lb
